Proposed development, destroying Green Belt, Newmarket Lane, Stanley
Phone your MP Ed Balls (especially if you are a traditional Labour voter) and explain to him why you are opposed to this development.
Ring him on 0113 253 9466 - Here’s a letter received today with no mention of any green issues or green belt.
Massive Implications for Residents of Stanley, Methley, Lofthouse, Bottomboat, Altofts, Oulton and surrounding areas.
We are not opposed to a stadium for Wakefield Wildcats. What we are opposed to is the loss of 250 acres of Green Belt countryside at the expense of industrial units.
You are probably not aware of this massive proposed development on your doorstep. We believe the communication from Wakefield Council and the developer has all been about a rugby stadium, but this proposed development is 250 acres mainly of industrial units and the rugby stadium is less than 4% of the total proposed development.
The map (below) outlines plans for approximately 250 acres of green belt land to be turned into industrial units, including a 24 hour distribution centre, business park, hotel and fast food chains.
This has now turned into a massive proposed development which will have huge implications for this area.
If you feel strongly about this development, complain to your local MP and write to the planning office with planning reference: 10/00225/OUT
